How to reserve IRQ for non-plug and play legacy ISA card RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have a legacy non-plug and play ISA card that was working fine under Windows XP when we were reserving an IRQ in the BIOS. It was working fine with or without the ACPI.

If I understand it right, it is mandatory to have the ACPI enabled to install VISTA.

Correct me if I'm wrong but VISTA ignores the IRQ reserved in the BIOS.

How can I make a legacy ISA card work under VISTA without reserving an IRQ in the BIOS?

Is there a way to reserve an IRQ in VISTA?

  • This is a developer forum for software and not a hardware troubleshooting forum so I'd try main support or broaden the search. Try the manufacturer of your hardware is another option.
