Translating to Spanish, German, & Japanese RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am developing an app where I want to allow the user to select the language the will use.  Spanish, German, and Japanese are the languages that I will need to translate to.  How do I do this?  I've never had to do language translation before.  I have sources that can translate my words and phrases into each language but I'm wondering how to get the app to do the conversion.  I'm just getting started so if there's anything I need to do up front to save time and headaches later is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rob

  • The Spanish and German are easy because both use the 26 characters Latin alphabet but the Japanese alphabet is not than 2000 characters.  The link below will help with UI localization, but for startic content you need to get the correct collation for each language in the database.  This will get you started.  Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the link.  I needed something like that to get me started in the right direction.  I can see that I have some work to do! Smile
