Visual Studio 2012 copies standard shaders while using certain FBX-files

    Question

  • Hi,

i found out that Visual Studio 2012 will compile and copy the shaders located in

    Visual Studio/Common7/IDE/Extensions/Microsoft/VsGraphics/Assets/Effects/

if any FBX-file contains properties referencing to a shading mode like "phong" or "lambert", VS will pick one of its default-shaders and copy them right next to the compiled .cmo file of this model.

I have tried to delete all references to a shading model within the FBX but after doing so, Visual Studio seems to just assume phong-lighting and copies the phong-shader anyway.

How can i disable this behaviour? What triggers it at all?

This is a major issue because I have multiple FBX-Files and while packaging, Visual Studio throws an error in Microsoft.AppXPackage.Targets because there are multiple references to the same target file phong.dgsl.cso.

    Regards,

    Tim
