Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Profiler Unspecified Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Visual C++ native application built with Visual Studio 2010 SP1.  I want to profile the application's startup to see what it taking so long for it to load and display the main frame window.  I routinely was able to do this prior to installing the SP1, but now it just gives a message stating there is an "unspecified error" and the application does not load.

  • The SP1 of VS2010 has a known issue (descripted here: IA64 compiler and VC++ library will be removed), you may try solutions mentioned in this blog to fix this issue. If the update doesn't work, you may need to reinstall VS2010 and try it again.
