Custom Enterprise Project Fields based on some formulas do not display in Project Server 2010 PWA views but do in MS Project 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • According to Table 2 in  I should be able to create a new custom enterprise project date field, set it equal to [status date],  and load that column in a project center view for viewing in PWA.   However,  it does not work this end, any ideas?    Here's what I did:

1 - created an new enterprise custom project field "test_date" of type date, set its formula = [status date].

    2 - loaded a schedule, pressed F9, republished

3 - modified a Project Center view to include "test_date"

4 - opened the view, but test_date is blank for that schedule.

What am I missing?    I'm trying to use [status date] in a graphical formula that will show which projects need updating...

  • Hi Spinnaker,

    1. Is the formula only "=[Status Date]"?
    2. Did you type the status date in the Project Information dialogue box?

  • Hi Spinnaker,

Yes. whatever you said is true. The status date field is NOT working when we use it in the CF formulas. However i am able to get the other date fields like Start, Finish etc...

I am sure the reason is that Since the Status Date field can't be set with PSI, this date field is NOT visible when we use it in the formulas. And i am NOT seeing any work around for this as i posted a similar question sometime back ( and ended up with the no resolution.

    Hope the above explanation helps.
