Why is Local Debug Rendering Old CSS, but new CSS is deployed?

    Question

  • I have a crazy debug issue.

It affects both of my work machines on VS 2015 and 2013.

When I debug locally, the CSS displayed is from an old version of the file.

But when I look at the path in Debug, the contents of the CSS are new.

Also, when I deploy, everything looks fine.  New CSS is used.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Answers

  • I looked at the source and saw that the CSS was being cached by RequestReduce (a NuGet package I had been testing).

I un-installed the package and the issue went away.
