Hello Forum,
I recently built a web site with a single page, which will read bar code and outputs the result. I used Bytescout SDK in my ASP.NET web site and when I debugged it in the visual studio, it came out fine; the camera asked for permission to access web cam and all other writings displayed well. But when I hosted the website, it is not displaying the web cam on the webpage and the writings are not showing too in chrome and Mozilla Firefox. However, in Microsoft EDGE it appears just like in visual studio but when I click on the scan button it takes a long time to read and when it finally outputs a result, it does not give the correct result; it outputs: (Iof2*DEMO*). I have attached here with this thread the respective codes used in aspx, aspx.cs, webcam.js and web.config. I want my website to display camera frame, appear as it does on the visual studio and to read any bar code when scan button is clickec. I need solution to this, please. Hi,
Stop trying to debug by reading code. instead the first stp is to use tools such as F12 Console, the VS debugger, F12 Elements etc... to see what actually happens. Then it's uch more efficient to look at the relevant part of code (and it can't always be guessed from the code).
My first guess would be not using https which is required in most browsers for security reasons as shown at https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/Home/chromium-security/deprecating-powerful-features-on-insecure-origins
