Why I can not start applications via Application Verifier on Windows Mobile 6.5 Device/Emulator? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to check memeory leak in an installable application, so need to use Application

    Verifier tool.

I use "Application Verifier for Windows CE 5.0", seems it is the newest version, though

released years ago, on Windows Mobile 6.5 device/emulator, the connection is done

successfully, but when I press "Run" botton after select an application' .exe file, always

    get an indication that:

Can not create process for this application, error 2. (maybe some error description words

    are different)

    Could someone help me out?

1, Why I can not start these applicaton?
    2, How to start it?
3, Is there any updated version for this tool? Better designed for Windows Mobile 6.5?

Note: use the same conditions, a few applications in Windows Mobile 6.5 can be started via

Application Verifier correctly, and logs are available after running, just like time/alarm

    setting.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Not quite sure what the latest version of application verifier is but here is the stand alone dowload:

Error 2 means "Could not find the file specified". This could indicate that the program you are trying to run is missing some depedencies? Can you run the application stand alone (so not via Application verifier)?

  • Hello,

After selecting you application in App Verifier either you run it from Device and collect the logs or you can start debugging you application us VS05.

If application is at root then only it will run using APP verifier if it is in some folder like Program Files/ur app name/urapp.exe then it will not work.

    Thanks
