Hosting WCF Service with MQ Custom Channel binding RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I somewhat successfully prototyped the custom channel by exposing the service via a console application. This application may be later wrapped as a windows service, if needed. But this is not very ideal as it will lead to explicilty managing the resources. I would prefer to rather host in IIS - but not sure if that is possible.

Here are my questions about hosting to anyone who implemented and exposed the MQ custom binding for WCF.

    1. Did you ever expose both HTTP binding and MQ custom channel in a single service?
    2. In case you couldn't do #1, did you host the service exposing HTTP binding in IIS and service exposing MQ custom channel as a windows service?
    3. How about IIS 7.0? It looks like WAS (Windows Activation Service) natively doesn't support MQ binding. Did anyone try to host the service exposing MQ custom channel in IIS 7.0?

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks, Lakshman
