Biztalk dosent have static IP address RRS feed

  • Question

  • For AS2 i need public IP address and it should point to biztalk IIS. My  case server is in  internal network hence can not have public (static) ip address and hence no access to treading partners. We have public server on which i can create virtual directory and give to trading partners for drooping off messages but than i don't know how could biztalk pick them up? Any help/ideas highly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I think your biggest challenge will be ensuring that your published cetificate does not include an IP address. If this is ok with your trading partners, then you should be able to use a web service hosted by IIS within a virtual directory of your public server. To get the messages transported securely to your BizTalk Server you will need to implement a web service router to move the messages. This is possible using various technologies.

In WCF you could build an intermediary router as documented here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms751497.aspx. You should look at the WCF Line-of-Business (LOB) SDK for BizTalk for information about using WCF with BizTalk in this scenario. Also, in WSE 3, there are examples of maintaining the security of a router like what you need, as described here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa529575.aspx.

    Thanks,
