Biztalk 2010 EDI RRS feed

  • Question

  • Do I need any external software beside BT 2010 out of the box to physically send an EDI document to an external warehouse? According to what I read everything should be in BT but I am being told that we need to purchase adapters from "nSoftware" .

    Please let me know...

  • BT out of the box will do everythig you need to process EDI. nSoftware provides you adapters that you can use to connect BT to external vendors. You may or may not need custom adapters, it all depends on the capabilities of your TP.

  • Thank you for your answer, can you elaborate a tiny bit regarding TP capabilities?

  • If you are told to purchase nSoftware adapters it is likely that your trading partners uses protocols not supported by BizTalk such as SFTP etc. The protocols don't have anything to do with BizTalk's EDI capabilities.

  • You could be needing additional 3rd party software to send/receive documents to/from your VANS provider
Please contact your provider to sort things out
Eg we are using a Java software package/service from CLEO for commucation with our VANS provider

Out of the box Biztalk provides everything else
