Display adapter put to sleep by calling DxgkDdiSetPowerState when display monitor is disconnected RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I need to keep both display adapters in D0 State even without display attached to the adapter, Is there any registry or other mechanism to achieve this.

    Setup:

    • I have a discrete and integrated display adapters in a platform
    • 2 Monitors connected to integrated & Discrete adapters each via HDMI

    Configuration:

    • Windows 19H1 OS - WDDM 2.6 compliant display miniport driver

    Issue

    • When Monitor is disconnected from any of two adapters, DxgkDdiSetPowerState for adapter without adapter is called by Display miniport model to put the device to D3 state.

    Thanks,

  • What is the larger problem that you're trying to solve? Why do you need the adapters powered up if there isn't a monitor attached?

  • Sorry for the late reply, Adapters have compute capability and need to validate the same without displays

  • Have you tried opening a handle to the devices?
