Export list from SharePoint 2013 into SP2009 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

For reasons I won't go into I need to know if it's possible to use the 'export list' option in SharePoint to export from a 2013 site and import that into a 2009 one.

Ideally we would use Powershell because there are attachments in the list: is that possible and if not, is just import and export into access or excel possible? (I realize attachments won't work with excel)

    Thanks :)

  • Hahaha, you made me think for couple of minutes.

Hmmm, Never tried from 2013 to 2007 though, but it should work as well but you have to try with this commands:

Here’s an command to export the Documents library from the root site collection:

    stsadm –o gl-exportlist -url "http://intranet/Shared Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx" -filename "C:\Folder\docs.cmp" -includeusersecurity -versions 4 -nofilecompression

    Import Command:

    stsadm -o gl-importlist -url "http://intranet/" -filename "C:\Folder\TIS.cmp" -includeusersecurity
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Nope, definitely 2009. We need to migrate data from one company SP to another and they are different versions. The 2009 version is moving to SP online later in the year.
