  • Question

  • When setting the bing map key in c#:

    MapService.ServiceToken = "AnDR…

    I get the exception System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException : 'External component has thrown an exception.'

    I have tried changing the application type of my key with Dev/Test or Mobile application but the result is the same…

    By the way I do not see application type set to UWP Windows app.

  • The "Dev/Test" or "Mobile Application" key type does not work with UWP applications - that is for web applications and other bing mobile controls. You need to create a key with the type "Windows application"

  • The problem is that I do not see Windows Application, the list just show:

    Dev/test
    Mobile application
    Website

  • The above is a screen clip I just took minutes ago from my account, so the portal seems to be working. If you have an enterprise account you should contact licensing support for questions. I'm not sure what else would cause that key type to be unavailable. Are you creating this new key from an account with lots of existing keys?

  • I don't think that I have an enterprise account. I have just four keys, one is disabled.

    You can see at screen capture rthat I do not have Windows application item...

  • Try creating a new key instead of updating an existing one.
