Separate Bing Maps keys per customer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Up until now we've been using the same API key for all the users of our application, which has made it easy to deploy our software, but when excessive amounts of Bing Maps transactions were used there was no way to tell which customers were using the most.

Management would like to assign a separate key to each user in our next version. Is there any way to generate a bulk list of keys, or do they have to be created one at a time?

Also, is this recommended against? A web browser can perform a Find on the key list if necessary, and the list can be exported to CSV, but we don't know if there is a maximum amount of keys that can be created for an account.

    Thanks,

    Jim Allison

  • If all the customers work for the same company you should have an internal known user licensee. If all the users are from different companies or pubic facing, contact the licensing team at maplic@microsoft.com, they will help you sort this out.

  • I should have mentioned that we currently have a few hundred customers using it, with the potential for over a thousand.

  • It's a private application, and there are different companies. We'll contact that email address.

    Thanks Ricky,
