Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel RRS feed

  • I am getting below error Intermittently (1 out of 10 times) in PROD env. having .Net Framework 4.6.2:

    The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.
        Exception Type: System.Net.WebException
        HResult: -2146233079
        Source: System
        Status: SecureChannelFailure

    We have made registry changes as mentioned in the article to use TLS 1.1 and 1.2 explicitly:


    I am not able to understand why it is occurring Intermittently, and once it starts occuring then it persists and only when the process is restarted it starts working again. Has anyone encountered it and can help?

    For your question, please try to set the DontEnableSystemDefaultTlsVersions AppContext switch to false. For more details about it, please refer to the MSDN document.


    And in your code, whet is your TLS version? And how do you set it? Please try the code below.

        ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Tls12 | SecurityProtocolType.Tls11 | SecurityProtocolType.Tls | SecurityProtocolType.Ssl3;
