Clear browser cache when update Outlook Add-in (installed by URL) RRS feed

  • I'm now developing an Outlook Add-in which all the source be uploaded at my server. Client install my add-in by URL.

    Sometimes, when update the source at server, client can't get the new source.
    And client must clear browser cache to get updated source.
    But this occurs sometimes and i nervous about it.

    Now i'm just developing, but i'll release many times in future.
    Does anyone have an idea?

    Do you develop with Office Add in or VSTO add in? Based on Clear browser cache when update Outlook Add-in (installed by URL) , it seems you are developing Office Addins. If so, could you share us how you install it by URL? As my understanding, we could publish Office add in to Office Store or Sharepoint catalog, but it will not be installed by URL, we install it from app for office or it will show up according the rule.

    Did this issue exist under Outlook Desktop? I made a test with deploying to Sharepoint, it works correctly after I change the DisplayName.

    Thank you for your support!

    Sorry for late reply. But in my case is VTSO add-in not Office Addins.

    We've tried to publish it to Office Store but not easy (we now not passed the Office Store's validation).

    So that, we choose the way that host the add-in source at my host and the user will install add-in by URL (manifest.xml file).

  • still add-in it uses cache sometimes event reinstall the add-in again
