Watching specific traffic-incidents for changes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey there,

I'm just wondering if it is possible, to track changes of a specific traffic incident.

If I query the same small region twice or more, so see if there are changes, the IncidentID changes, even for the same description and position of the incident, if the lastModified timestamp changes.

This makes it nearly impossible to track changes of incidents, because with onyl one change the description, the start-point and the endpoint might change. So you can't use them to match two incidents.

So the question is: Why does the IncidentID change if a modification is done? Sometimes only the lastModified timestamp changes and nothing else...

    Thank you very much.

    Greetings

  • The traffic data has a lot of restrictions around it's use as noted in the Bing Maps terms of use. I would of expected the incidentID to stay the same as well. However, doing anything other than displaying the traffic data is against the terms of use.
