CommandTimeout when querying Active Directory? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm working on a Google OneBox module which queries AD for contact information. I've run into a problem because our Google Search Appliance will only wait a maximum of 3 seconds for my app to return results and it often takes longer than that for app to finish.

It is my understanding that teh adodb.Command object is dependent on the database being queried to honor the CommandTimeout setting. Is this correct and does AD recognize this setting?

    Thanks,
    Hugh

  • I do not think CommandTimeout has anything to do with the AD. Database provider uses CommandTimeout as a time to wait if command is finished execution. If there is no response from the database within specified timeout, then provider throws an error, not the database that controls it.
