Question about limiting URI access from a browser but still allow it through a Silverlight app? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sorry I am learning as much as possible with ADO.NET Data Services and I am new to this. My initial questions deal with security concerns. I understand the process of transmitting data through the URI. However I only want that data available through my Silverlight app and not available through the Web Browser (IE) How do I block and limit only acceptable URI HTML Actions through my Silverlight app only?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Hi,
To limit access to the data service to only authenticated users you can turn on an authentication scheme that cannot be negotiated with the browser,
ex : Forms authentication for the website hosting the data service . Then have the silverlight client authenticate against the website before it makes calls to the Data Service.
