[Desktop Bridge][UWP] Troubles with publishing converted app

    Question

  • Hello.

I had successfully converted desktop application with DesktopAppConverter tool. But there are some validation errors when I try to submit package.

    Poet.appx3.4 MB
Package acceptance validation error: The PublisherDisplayName element in the app manifest of Poet.appx is CN=Makeloft, which doesn't match your publisher display name: Makeloft.
Package acceptance validation error: You don't have permissions to specify the following namespaces in the appx manifest file of the package Poet.appx: http://schemas.microsoft.com/appx/manifest/foundation/windows10/restrictedcapabilities

Package acceptance validation error: Your developer account doesn’t have permission to submit apps converted with the Desktop App Converter at this time.

    1) Obviously string "CN=Makeloft" doesn't equals "Makeloft" but I can't into command line set company name without prefix "CN="

    2) Don't have any ideas

    3) I followed to the link https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/projects/campaigns/desktop-bridge

    like described into topic https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/03e96839-d163-4c0d-a637-ddb81956179a/uwp-desktop-bridgecannot-publish-converted-appx-to-windows-store?forum=wpdevelop

    and fill required information.

  • Hi Makeman,
    >Q1
You’re supposed to associate your app with the Store first before creating your package, which will automatically sync the info in app manifest. You could right click the project in solution explorer in Visual Studio. Choose Store and select Associate App With the Store. Then just follow the dialogs coming up.

    >Q2
Please note that restricted capability is not available for developers to use as they are only available to apps developed by Microsoft and its partners. These capabilities is highly restricted and subject to additional Store on boarding policy and review.
So, if you don’t need it in your app, you might need to remove this namespace from your appmanifest file.

If you really need to have it within your app, please request access to a restricted capability before submitting your app following steps below:
    • Determine if you are eligible to submit your app to the store with a specific restricted capability by looking at the table below. If you are not eligible, any requests you make will be denied.
    • If you are eligible visit the Submitting an App support page.
    • Set the problem type to App submission and certification and the category type to Submitting an app using a restricted capability.
    • Include the capability you are requesting access to and include a reason for your request. If you do not provide all the information necessary, your request will be denied. You may also be asked to provide more information.
*The reviewing process will take around 5 business day or longer. Please submit your request before submitting app to the Store.
More details, please see Special and restricted capability.
    >Q3
Based on the info you filling, I think you follow the correct path to sign up. All you can do at this point is to wait someone to contact you as the process can take some time to review.
If you still cannot receive any notification after a period of time, you could contact Dev Center support for further investigation. Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Mattew Wu

    >Q3
