Ludique's Kinect Bundle (Simple Kinect Touch) Port to Kinect for Windows v2 SDK. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Guys!

I am trying to create a touchscreen at any surface with Kinect for Windows v2.

So far the best implementation i saw was using LKB (https://code.google.com/p/lkb-kinect-bundle/).

Unfortunately it is not for v2 and not using the official SDK.

As you can see in the video https://youtu.be/hzEojZ4l1i0?t=61 it does the following.

    1. Select Valid Zone for touch interaction

    2. Calculate Virtual Plane based on Valid Zone

    3. Substract the depth frame with the virtual plane

    4. Apply some distance thresholds to eliminate noise/jitter erros

    5. feed to openCV for basic blob detection

I am having trouble with step 2 and step 3. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to create the virtual plane and substract it from the depth frame in order to feed it to openCV?

    Thanks in advance,

    Thomas
