Check mail read context RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a ribbon control with a button that needs to do different things based on the context in which the mail item was opened, that is if the user opened the email by replying, composing or reading. How can I deduce this from the inspector context or mailitem fields?

  • You can check the Sent property - it will be true for reading an existing message.

As for reply/forward, yo ucacn check the subject prefix (RE, FW).

  • Thank you. I was hoping there was an explicit method or property to determine this from the inspector context. I will have to make do with this method.
