Customs font - Cannot make it work RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to include custom fonts into my application and i've tried all available solutions about this topic. The point is, Visual studio shows the correct/custom font, but when loading the app in the browser it's not working and i'm getting the default font type. What's wrong here?

There many thing that can go wrong. May you describe your settings and post a couple of line of code so we will imagine where may be the issue?

Please check how you have set the font Build Action into the Visual Studio solution.

  • I've noticed that some fonts just don't work. I know I've used Segoe Condensed in a project which works fine (link), you can see the condensed font in the Previous Topic and Next Topic just fine. But Segoe Bold, wouldn't take. Segoe UI, didn't work.

Maybe when certain fonts don't work there's a place/person we can email to tell them, and even send them the font so they can repro it. Could be something wrong with the font rendering engine in Silverlight 2.

  •  Hi DJanjicek,

The following types of user added fonts are supported: TTF, ODTTF and OTF. Silverlight will not recognize other font types such as FON and TTC that are added by a user. If, however, the system has these fonts already installed they will be recognized.

The more you can try to refer this link: http://silverlight.net/blogs/msnow/archive/2008/09/25/silverlight-tip-of-the-day-46-font-support-in-silverlight.aspx

  • The font type i want to use is, according to its' file specifications, a True Type Font. The internal name of the font type is "Bell MT". I uploaded a winrar package containing the fonttype, maybe someone else wants to try it. As i said, visual studio does regonize it, but the app running in internet explorer doesn't

The font type can be downloaded at: http://rapidshare.com/files/199124453/BELLB.rar.html

I just saw rapidshare allows only 10 downloads of the file, so please download it only if you're really willing to test
