Re-adding X400 adress in default policy for starting information store on ex2003 after migration to exchange 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    i have a problem:

    I have migrated Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.

    First we moved the mailboxes to 2010 and all the other important things.

    After that procedure we restarted both servers and after the restart Exchange 2010 is working fine while Exchange 2003 cannot start the information store service to mount the databases.

    i am sure that the problem is that i have already removed the x400 adress in the default policy. Now i cannot open the default policy in Exchange 2003 any more, in Exchange 2010 I cannot add a x400 adress.

    We tried few suggestions with adsedit but still without success.

    i hope you can help me.

  • So, however, I have fixed the problem.

    Do the following if you have the same issue like me:

    -open ADSEDIT and browser to your default policy object

    -open the object

    -go to the gatewayproxy attribute and add the entry for X400:

    here an example: X400:c=US;a= ;p=Test;o=Exchange;

    -restart the information store service on exchange 2003 and it will work

    best regards
