  • Hi Uday,

Yes, you should.  Microsoft has worked a lot on SFTP adapter based on the feedback and experiences since it was introduced in BizTalk Server 2013 and ofcouse with this you get Microsoft support as well ie. they will fully support your application using SFTP adapter and fix any issue you get while working with SFTP adapter.

There has been lot of enhancements provided which are listed here at: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/biztalk_server_team_blog/2016/04/13/biztalk-server-2016-ctp1-sftp-adapter-enhancements/

SFTP Adapter now supports additional ciphers (DES, Blowfish and ArcFour) and more SFTP Server.

See Supported SFTP Servers. Starting with BizTalk Server 2016, the SFTP adapter uses WinSCP to connect to SFTP. As a result, SFTP servers that support WinSCP should work.

  • Hi,

I agree with Rachit. Just want to add that you can test your SFTP connections yourself. Log on to the Azure portal, spin up a BizTalk Server 2016 VM, and test it. If you have MSDN or a trial subscription, this will be free.

  • Hi Uday,

Yes you can use SFTP adapter shipped with BizTalk 2016 without any issue .

You can replace your SFTP connection details to the SFTP adapter shipped with BizTalk . You can also try the connection from your existing BizTalk 2013R2 version and test the message flow .

It really depends upon the features you are using of nsoftware which are not the part of sftp in BizTalk 2016. The adapter features list is already shared above by other members. Please have a look.

  • Hi,

BizTalk 2016 SFTP adapter does not support affiliate applications and that is important to us.
