Patterns & Practices developing Silverlight & Astoria? RRS feed

  • Question

  • As part of a project proposal to client, I need to outline the full approach and solutions that I need to bring to this project. An important part is the "Data" processing which deals with retrieving, updating, adding and etc.
Since this part deals with using Astoria on the server side, the client wants to know if there are standard guidelines and patters in place so we can follow these guidelines to prevent mistakes or waste of times.

    For example:
    a) Proper way of performing CRUD in multi-user environment
    b) Performing Batch processing!
    c) Building proper LINQ statements on the client side to pass to Astoria.
    d) Using Astoria services by authenticated and authorized users.

I've done some research and have come across some homemade samples which different people are just demonstrating a point just for the sake of that sample rather than a standard way of approaching it.

I was wondering if the team has any guidelines for using these two products together and avoiding pitfalls and wasting time by trial and error.

If there is such a thing or spread in different sections, I would appreciate if you could point me to the right direction.

    Thank you in advance!
