Assembly.Load differences between .NET 2.0 and 3.5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are application receives updates from the web by downloading an assembly and directly loading it using Assembly.Load(byte[] data).

When working with a managed assembly with no unsafe code the load operations works for both .NET 2.0 and 3.5, but if the assembly contains unsafe managed code (not native) .NET 2.0 will fail to load the assembly and crash, while 3.5 loads it fine.

Any clues? (We have clients using 2.0 who are unwilling to install 3.5).
