Error: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

Question

Hi guys,

I am new to SSIS and I am trying to run a script task, I have set up variables for username, password, etc in my script, but when I execute the task, it fails with the error System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)).

Can anyone suggest anyway to remedy this issue.

Can we know what the Script Task supposed to do?

You are most probably having a permission issue.

What is your Windows OS? Do you run BIDS as admin?

It was a permissions issue that is solved now.

I have the same error in SSRS. Ive got 4 infrastructure guys and 3 devs workin on figuring it out for over 1 month now to no avail. Politics has prevented the scap it and start over approach. So, no redeployment option. Any additional info about the lack of permission that you found would be greatly appreciated.
