USB-IF Certification Validation Test failed in HCK when logs from USB3CV are used RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I make USB device testing using Microsoft HCK to get signed drivers. I have problem to pass USB-IF Certification Validation Test. It is only test which I have problem with on Windows 8.1 x64.

I passed own Chapter 9 Tests [USB 2 devices] using the latest USB3CV_x64 (v2.1.0.1). I copied the Report directory log files (.html, .xml) into c:\usblogs of client PC. But the test always fails. I try to some modification of logs (USB 2 to USB 2.0) according to other post (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsdesktop/en-US/3227a1b0-069e-4593-9861-18d66f9dca72/usbif-test-results-log-file-format?forum=whck#e134fca5-e164-4d8c-8875-2dc2d66b9232) but it didn't help to me. I am using the latest HCK (8.100.27024) and I applied the UpdateFilters.

I suppose some problem between Microsoft HCK log parsing and real USB3CV report logs. I hope that I am not only person having this problem and maybe somebody could help me.

    Best regards,

  • Thank you for support. I found it myself. The problem are single apostrophes (') in meta data of USB30CV log. Replacing them by (") together with replacing USB 2 to USB 2.0 fix the problem.

  • Error log says that there is some invalid metadata string (some string is missing). Actually I don't know what.
