.net app needs folder to save file when uploading/download from db - what's best practice to keep iis server secure RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an asp.net application on our iis server.  It uploads/downloads a file to the database - a copy of the file has to be temporarily stored on the server.  Where is the best place to do this security wise .. within the application folder or e:\temp folder on server?  What permissions should I be setting on the folder?

    Background info:
      -windows2003 server running iis 6.0
-iis runs from our d drive
      -applications from from d:\applications
-application developed in visual studio 2005

Can anyone direct me to information that will help answer these questions.

    thanks,
