Sharepoint SAAS to make Powerpivots available to clients RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi All

I am starting to use Powerpivots for  customer reporting. I want to make these reports available to a customer that doesn't use Excel 2010. I assume uploading the Powerpivots  to a Sharepoint is the best way to do this. A client could then login to SharePoint and view and manipulate  the power pivot.

The issue is that the  value & benefit  of customer being able to access these reports via share point wouldn't justify the substantial financial outlay required for buying SharePoint (which I assume would be many $1000's) or renting access to a full server (which I assume would be $100s per month).

Therefore my question is - are there any services (SAAS) out there were we could rent access to Sharepoint on a small scale that would make my idea of providing customer access to individual Powerpivot financially feasible?

    Any advice would be welcomed.

    Steve
