Printing QR or Data matrix codes from Access 2013

Question
-
Hello everyone,
I'm not quite sure if this is the place to be asking this question but I don't really know where else to be asking it.
I work at a company that has a SQL database which is used to store orders, items data, stock, etc. etc. they've linked that to an Access database via ODBC. The Access application is purely used to print reports with specific layouts (this documentation is used to create sample hangers and booklets).
Now there is a question to also add either a QR code or Data matrix code to a few of these designs. The QR or data matrix should contain the hanger number (made up of 5 numbers stored in a set field in the SQL database). Is it possible to do this in Access 2013 without too much VB coding and such?
Please note that Access should include the QR or data matrix codes on the report itself. I do not want to be making the codes in another application only to paste them into the design at the time of printing, this would simply be too much work to be efficient.
Thank you in advance

Hi. Would using commercial third-party add-ins be acceptable?
Edit: Looks like Google has an API for it. See here...

I will defer to DBg as more knowledgeable - I myself though QRs were images. So in terms of Access - it is no different than dealing with an image control. But I don't see anyway for Access to generate the QR from data - that would at least require gobs of custom code ..... would be interested to learn more on this topic myself.....Monday, June 20, 2016 7:53 PM
