MS Proj Server 2010 Resource Assignments Timephased View RRS feed

  • Question

  • Via a view in PWA Resource Assignments I can see Timephased Data for the selected range for the selected resources, however the table displaying Actual Work on the right side of the view is formatted to show Actual Work by day. I would like to adjust this view, or make a new one, to display Actual Work by week or by month. Can someone please tell me how to do this? Gantt Chart Formats under Look and Feel in Server Settings doesn’t appear to be the place to do this and there is no option for this when setting-up a new view. Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Jane,

I'm afraid this is not possible. You cannot change the timescale in the resource assignment view, but only specify a date range. Moreover in the view definition, you cannot set a time unit for the timephased grid.

As a workaround, you can achieve this by 2 differents methods:

    • By Project Pro
    1. Open project pro, checking the option "load summary resources assignments"
    2. open a blank file and insert the enterprise resources you want to look at (or open an existing file)
    3. go to the resource usage view and set the correct timephased unit from the "view" tab in the ribbon

    • By Excel Services/Performance point

Assuming that Excel Services has been configured, use an existing excel template to create a report displaying the resources assignments by time periods. Playing with the pivot table, you'll be able to choose the time units.

    Hope this helps.

  • functionality which you want does not supported in Project Server view, This kind of functionality is only available on MPP where you can change the Timescale.

You have to create custom report either based on Excel report either tabular or pivot table in which you can group by day, week, month etc.

If you want to create excel report then take the query

and do the grouping by day, week, month etc

    OR

You can create SSRS report in which you can group the data by Day, week, month.

Link is having Query which will be helpful to you you can use this query for both SSRS and Excel reporting.

Only you have to do some modification(Use drill down so that you can see report for day, week, month etc) in case of SSRS.
