Other Office binary file formats? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

What about opening specifications for other Office binary file formats - Visio, Access, Equation, etc?
Some of them already has unofficial descriptions, and could be used as a start for implementation, but it's better to have official descriptions

  • Hi Alex,

Could you help us understand the specific need you are attempting to address so we can respond with more information?  Is there a particular interoperability scenario you are working on?  Can you tell us a little more about why you are interested in these formats specifically?

    Thank You....

  • Hi,

I would also like specifications for other file formats, particularly Visio and Project. We produce high assurance inter-domain guards which are required to fully parse any object to determine whether to allow it to traverse between security domains. We have customers who would like to be able to send Visio and Project between security domains.
