PhoneMakeCall launches standard Windows Mobile user interface RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I want to make phone calls in my apllication.
I tried PhoneMakeCall() API function and NETCF Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Telephony.Phone class.
With both I can make calls but the problem is that the standard WinMobile phone application is automatically launched when a phone call is initiated. My app is still running in background.

How can I make a phone call from my application without the standard phone app being launched?
PS.: I tried my app on Windows Mobile 6.1

    Thanks in advance

  • You can use TAPI (Telephony API) functions like lineMakeCall.

  • Thanks. You're right. lineMakeCall() doesn't launch the dialer

  • That's a good answer. Now I have a little different problem. I have my own phone app. When double clicking a contact number from the contacts or selecting a number from the contacts and clicking the "call" soft button, I want the standard window phone app was not used. Instead my phone app can get the selected number and be launched.

    How can I do it?

    Thanks in advance,
