Error Transmitting message to FTP Server using ESB Toolkit Adapter Providers

    Question

  • ?Hi

I am trying to transmit a file to an FTP Server using ESBT FTP Adapter
    provider.
I have configured a Business Rule that is called in order to configure a
    Direct Send Port.

The Rule looks like this in actions part:

Set End Point Outbound Transport Type to FTP
Set End Point Outbound Transport Location to ftp://<MyFTPServer>/<MyFolder>
Set End Point Config to UserName=<MyUserNamer>&Password=<MyPassword>

However I receive following error in BizTalk at the time of execution:
"A failure was encountered while transmiting the message "

    The eventlog says the following:
A message sent to adapter "BiztalkMessagingEngine" on send port "Off-ramp -
Vans" with URI "ftp://<FTP Server IP-Number>/inbox" is suspended.
    Error details: Unknown Error Description

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • The mentioned error was caused by the fact that Application making use of
the FTP Adapter was deployed before the Adapter was properly configured.
Hence, an unenlist and enlist of the send port after the FTP Adapter
    Configuration resolved the issue

  • I suggest a slow process of elimination method:

First try to get it working with a static send port + message In + message out pattern. To eliminate any possible protocol/security/message format issues.

Next, do one thing at a time:

Get the ESBT to produce correct message format to a file drop location,

Next, get a dynamic adapter configured with BizTalk and without ESBT using an Orchestration to determine the security/ transport settings.

Finally use ESBT with configuration from dynamic settings in orchestration to configure it all.

It's tedious, but you'll learn alot, and figure out what your error may be.
