remove logon screen xp RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I need to remove the login screen or boot straight in to the desktop.

we have a system that uses windows xp embedded sp 2 and we currently use autologin through the registry settings to login to a locked down secure system. the problem we have is that if the / key is stuck or pressed too soon then the login screen comes up as a failed login we need a way to by pass this. I have read about the gina.dll that can be used but very hard to find samples or guides on how to produce them to suit our needs.

If there is another way of preforming this task then I would be happy to explore these.

We have 2 users an admin and a normal user we still need this as with a boot up disk we can switch users.

I hope someone can help me out.

    Regards

    Aidan

  • If you have Platform SDK for Windows XP installed, check the Samples\Security\GINA\GinaStub subfolder under the install directory.
