Always trust publisher RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi..

I have developed a program for PDA's, which runs in full screen and may never close. When my program updates, windows mobile prompts me for permission to run the program, because it is a new version.

Is it possible to tell the PDA to always trust a specific publisher?

    if yes, how?

if no, is it possible to turn this security off?

    if yes, how?

    greetings from

  • Hi Haolan,

As far as I know, there is no way to tell PDA to always trust a publisher. Since all kinds of PDA have different security config, If you only run application for test, you can use sdk sample certificate, if you develop it as a product, I suggest you sign project with Mobile2Market certificate, becuase most of mobile devices include it.

It is possible to turn security off, but it would bring risk, if you really want to change it, I recommend you contact your OEM to help you.

    See following msdn document:

In the article, you will learn following aspects:

  • Using the Device Security Manager to determine the security configuration of a device
  • Using the Device Security Manager to change the security configuration of a device
  • Provisioning the development certificates on a device
  • Signing a file with the development certificates
  • Provisioning a locked device
