Persist databae in VSTO without using registry RRS feed

  • I currently use the registry to store data I need to persist in VSTO. Is there other viable means?

  • sample code for IO operations? from top of my head:

    System.IO.File.WriteAllText(Path.Combine(Environment.GetFolderPath( Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData ),  "mycustomfile.txt"), "my data");

  • if by storing data you mean your own private db for your add-in then sure, you could store it on disk in %APPDATA%
