I have an error in certification that is NOT an error! Please help RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I got an email about my app submission saying that it's missing an AppManifest.xaml file, and that it's an error. In the email they attached an AppManifest.xaml along with a "WindowsPhoneGame1.dll" file.

However, my app is only for Windows Phone 8, and according to the help regarding AppManifest.xaml, it does not need these files. Quote from the help found at URL http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/hh184844%28v=vs.105%29.aspx :

"A valid .NET app manifest file, named AppManifest.xaml. This requirement only applies for apps that do not have the RuntimeType attribute set to Modern Native in the app manifest file. For more information about the RuntimeType attribute and the app manifest file, see App manifest file for Windows Phone."

It states that I don't need an AppManifest.xaml if the RuntimeType is set to "Modern Native", which my app has set! So I don't need an AppManifest.xaml file. So why did it fail certification?

    Can someone please help here?
