CDN and Public Containers RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I am currently deploying a hybrid SharePoint 2010 and Azure solution and so far we are excited and happy with the results.

One of the real attractions for us is the ability to offload our BLOBS to the Azure BLOB storage and utilize CDN. This is because we are a global company and this would = huge benefits to our userbase.

Anyway, upon reading information on the MS pages I am under the impression that CDN will only work with Public Containers that can be accessed anonymously.

Is this true? If it is, does that mean storing any kind of sensitive/confidential data in this way would be leaving it wide open to anyone on the web?

Why can't it be private? I would be utterly disappointed if it was the case. I can see a million and one uses for businesses utilizing CDN for their secured data...

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

    Kind regards,

    Richard Weston
