Problems viewing dss services RRS feed

  • Question

  • I can start DSSHOST without any problems.  However, when I tried to view the services using Firefox, I am prompted for my credentials (not sure what I should supply here, and if I just hit OK without submitting any credential information, I get a blank page.  I tried using my pc log-in as credentials, but I got the same blank screen.  So whatever I entered as my credentials or not enter any at all, I get the same blank screen.  No error message, nothing.  BUT, when I use Chrome as my browser, I get to see all the services and am no longer prompted for credentials.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Perhaps I am asking more a firefox question than a DSS question, but it is weird that I can view the list of services in Chrome but not in Firefox.  Not sure why there is such a difference.  I don't have IE to compare as I have long removed that from my PC (oops! Shouldn't have said that).

  • When you use IE, it automatically sends your current login credentials whenever it is challenged by a web site. This happens behind the scenes and most people are not aware. It is called NTLM Authentication. Firefox does not support this. I assume that Chrome does.
