Visio Viewer Object Model (Zoom to Rec Method) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a map in which I would like to code so that when a group of shapes are clicked the Visio viewer.Zoom to Rec method is enacted to zoom to a certain portion of the active page. I need to save this as a web page.  Can someone please provide me an outline for the structure of the click event? Also, I see this object model listed under Visio 2013 on MSDN, do you need v. 2013 to enact this method?

  • Since the viewer only works in a browser, I'd start investigating how the browser fires the event and then how you are going to manipulate what is happening (java ?, html ?). They attempt to keep the viewers in sync with the Visio versions because of enhancements in the later products, but obviously they read down level drawings. I usually refer people to John Goldsmiths site (http://visualsignals.typepad.co.uk/vislog/) or David Parker http://blog.bvisual.net/2010/07/18/visviewer-3rd-edition-released/) because David's free visio viewer has several nice enhancements. Both of these gentlemen are MVPs and very knowledgeable on the subject.
