Unable to add EDI Application as reference RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have installed BizTalk Server 2009 on Windows Server 2009 and VS 2008. All BizTalk databases are on  SQL Server 2008 on a seperate m/c.
    Installation went without any problem.
I created a test project and added X12_00401_835.xsd schema to the project and buit with strong name key. After successfull build I deployed.
I see this project in resources folder in BizTalk 2009 Admin Consol and also I see Schema in Schema folder.
When I try to add EDI Application as reference to BizTalk Application 1 in BizTalk Server 2009 Administration Console, it gives me a message that there are no applications to reference.
Hence I see only XMLReceive and PassThroughReceive in Piplines in Receive Location in Receive Port configuration. I want to have EDI Receive as pipline.
Can any one please help me how to resolve this problme.
Thank you for any help or hint in advance.
    Bharat.

  • Please make sure you have EDI services if not you missed the EDI at Configuration.

    Go Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Click Change/Remove -> Choose Repair.

Go BizTalk Server Configuration -> Configure the BizTalk EDI/AS2 Runtime which would bring BizTalk EDI Application.
    Thanks, Raja

  • Hi Bharat,

Were you able to configure the EDI successfully at the time of BizTalk Configuration.
Looks like reconfiguring should solve the problem.

  • Hi Raja,
It seems that Biztalk EDI /AS2 is not configured. It tells me to configure first BAM Tools.
I may need to look at it.
    Thanks for the hint.

  • Hi Bharat,

For the BAM Tool configuration you need to have SSAS installed along with SQL Server.

  • SQL Server Integration Services is a part of SQL Server. You can install it from the same media as you ued to install SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services and Notification Services.

  • Right

Then, most likely, you are pointing BAM to a different SQL Server instance than you ahve installed SSIS for?

  • Hi Elisan
I have configured all the required databases for BizTalk 2009 against Sql Server 2005.
I want to configure databases for BAM Tools and BAM Alerts against the same Sql Server 2005, but when I try to open Integration Service or Analysis Service on Sql Server 2005 I do not see it there.
I see it against Sql Server 2008!!
Although I jus installed those components on Sql server 2005!!
And hence I get above mentioned error message while configuring BAM Tools and Alerts.
I do not how to proceed.
    Thanks.
