Options for storing a database in a windows 8 C# application? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm relatively new to windows programs and especially windows 8 apps.  I am creating a program in C# from Visual Studio, mostly for my own use, that will have a database of some sort.

For the database, I need to handle a maximum of 1000 items (I'm thinking around 200 realistically), and will each have about 10 parameters.  It also needs 'global' access within the program, and has to be able to have new items added later from within the running program.

I'm used to small Java programs that you would access a file and load the contents on start-up, but I feel like there is a better way.

    Thanks, Travis

  • Yes. You can pre-populate your database and either include it in your app package or download it from your server.
