Accumulative change (%) for index RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am tracking FX changes for USD Vs other currencies.

I want to allow my users to choose a Start date and an End date and see the accumulative % Change for the index in a line chart (baseline set as Start date).

Additional Q - I prefer the dates slicer to be from "Timeline" type instead of 2 regular slicers.

  • Hey there,

I think we could be of more help if you maybe shared your .xlsx-file e.g.

It's hard to explain what to do if we don't even know the structure of you datamodel.

    Kind regards

  • It's a bit tricky for me to share the DB as it contains data from my work.

I can structure a new "mini" model or if you have something in your hand that can also work

  • Excel 2010 with free PowerPivot Add-In.
Compatible with Office 2013 Pro Plus.
    Regular Slicers.
    Timeline slicer too tricky.
    With real, public FX rates.

  • Hi,

I noticed that the solution always calculate the % of difference vs. the first date of the month.

So if I want to calculate the % difference between 4/13/14 to 14/4/14 and up to 4/20/14, it can't do it correctly.

What workaround is needed to apply an option to pick a start date (which will be the base=0%)?
