Visual Studio Enterprise with MSDN Subscription RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Team,

We are a Microsoft partner and we sold Visual Studio Enterprise Edition with MSDN subscription to a customer. The customer’s developers want to collaborate their work with that of another organization. The other organization is developing a software with their licensed Visual Studio and my customer’s developers want to get access to that software. Kindly advise how can this can be achieved.

  • Please see mail below received from customer for better understanding:

We bought a Visual Studio with MSDN license from a microsoft partner which is an on-premise Visual Studio software.

Now our developers want to use the Visual Studio online feature so as to retrieve source codes of a distant Developer using GIT version control, a feature available on Microsoft TFS online.

Using our microsoft account(xxxx.xxxx@companyname.com) used to purchase the software , our developers logged on to MSDN subscriber download site https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/manage/ to access Visual Studio Team Services (which is Visual Studio online) but still couldn't access all features including Code.

The developers then created a Microsoft partnership account using xxxx.xxxx@companyname.com which was then used to create Visual Studio online “companyname”new.visualstudio.com

When we access https://partners.microsoft.com/PartnerProgram/ManagePeople.aspx using the credentials, You will notice that the account of a developer has been added but when she tries to access “companyname”new.visualstudio.com, she gets the above error message. Our Organization Partner ID is 4703593

    Please help resolve this.
