Open the Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt (Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 -> Visual Studio Tools -> Visual Studio Command Prompt) & enter the command.

Be sure that you installed Visual Studio 2008 in your PC.

General way to install Silverlight is:

    1. Install Visual Studio 2008
    2. Install Visual Studio 2008 SP1 (requires internet connection if it's not an offline installer)
    3. Install Silverlight_3_Tools for Visual Studio 2008 SP1

  • This is the procedure it worked perfectly [ both XP and Vista.]

    1. VS 2008 installed first, then VS2008 SP1

    2. install Silverligh_tools.exe 72.3MB with internet connection and everything worked perfectly.

    3. Then  install Blend Trial.exe and afterwards Blend SP1. The blend now works perfectly and also is integrated with S2 RTW application.

  • If you are able to work in Blend 3.0 then it is only regarding some settings issue in VS. Just do a reset of VS using the following command from Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt:

                         devenv /ResetSettings

Open your VS & now this should work fine.
