Authenticating with third party app RRS feed

  • Question

  • We built a .NET app for one of our clients some years back. Call that a "record keeping system for projects".

Those projects each have a library of files associated with them. Those documents are stored in Office 365.

The user logs into their record-keeping app, authenticated via an internal standalone table with username, password etc.

They can click links which take them to the associated, specific storage area for the documents in Office 365 related to particular projects.

Naturally, if they haven't already logged into that then they're forced to log in when they click the links, since they need to auth' with Office.

    Question:

Is there any way at all to cross-auth the user so that they only log into one or the other system, even if that means manually keeping user ID and password (or anything else required to log in) the same in both systems?

    Thank you.
